Junk...Returned it
Received this box bent and the contents broken. The picture shows a little brace right next to the hinge...There is no brace....lid wouldn't close right because the box was bent and the card holder inside was broken. A paper bag would work better.

SteelMaster® 3" x 5" Index Card Files
This has worked well for my file system. The regular file boxes you can find everywhere are too small for all the cards I have. I use two of these boxes, one for family and friends and one for businesses only. It's easy to add more information on the cards and if they get out of date you just update the info to a new card or throw the cards away. The metal assures that...

Sturdy file holder
This is a sturdy file holder for 3x5 cards but when I loosen the backing, some cards fold down, making searches awkward.

SteelMaster 3 x 5 Index Card Files
Good strong box, and the sliding follower block functions well, but the lid doesn't sit very well on the box. There is no impairment in function, but the box doesn't quite look as it should when the lid is closed. Does not mate very well. Once the lid is closed the user must push the lid a bit to the side and then it looks quite nice sitting on the desk.

Solid card holder
This is a good strong card holder with a solid follower to keep the cards upright. But it allegedly holds 900 3x5 cards, my collection pushes the limit. Also the holder is heavy.

Perfect size - kinda flimsy
They are just the right size for the project I am working on so 5 starts for that
However, for the price, I expected the metal to be stiffer which is why I am only giving it 3 stars. The name "SteelMaster" gave me the impression the metal would be steel or at least a heavy duty metal and that is not the case. The metal is a very thin aluminum.

Durability rather than beauty
Durable with easy access to 3x5 cards. My expensive, plastic Roladex didn't survive it's last trip from desk to floor. This metal SteelMaster may last the rest of my life.

Good quality. Could be slightly wider.
Looking for a sturdy metal box to house 3" x 5"
recipe cards. It does the trick, but could be a little wider (1/8") as the cards "slide" with slight resistance.
Serves my purpose. It wasn't easy finding this box in metal. Thank you, Staples.

Exactly what I needed and could not find
In this "paperless" society, all things are not and for my business, I needed a large sturdy card file box to organize index size cards related to the products I sell to easily access the one(s) I need.
