partial strength
so there is an added cardboard to increase the bottom width - great idea - also strengthens it but the top hanger is the same strength as the normal sized hanging file folders. and those many times do not hold up to the weight of the files inside. So by adding width, doesn't it occur to the manufacturer, the weight will be heavier and the hanger and what holds it needs ...

Awesomizing File Cabinets One File At A Time
These hanging folders are easy and awesome to work with! They don't take up much room and keep my files organized. They are durable and don't slip off the hangers like other file cabinets. Great value and a must have if you deal with tons of filing!

Works well for our purpose
The hanging folders work well. The only problem is if we have a heavy file to put in, the hanging folder will rip.

Not only will you NOT find any hanging file folders that are BETTER than Smead Hanging File Folders; you will NOT find any AS GOOD as Smead.

Fantastic File Folders!
I love smead exterior files for all of my home and office filing needs! I trust this brand and always purchase smead without question, knowing the quality and price is not equaled by any other brand. Fantastic Folders!
These folders are easy to use and keep me happily organized! The tabs are easy to insert and It keeps all my paperwork nice and neat, These files are a lifesaver as a mommy of two it's one less thing to worry about. THANKS SMEAD!! :)
