Western digital 1TB external drive
WD 1TB external drive much better for MacBook Air than the previous La Cie which failed within just 3 months of purchase. La Cie is junk and would never purchase again. No more La Cie for me. WB only.

Defective unit
The WD ssd usb c did not connect reliably. It sometimes jumped back and forth between connected and disconnected making it unusable. My Seagate One Touch and my Samsung 7 both work fine. I had to exchange the WD for the Samsung.

Please let us confirm that WD My Passport SSD is a plug-and-play device that comes preformatted in the NTFS file system for Windows operating system. If you are using a Mac computer then the drive needs to be formatted in the HFS+J file system for operation. Please refer to the WD support page in order to reformat the drive for macOS to the HFS+J file system.
