Its great when they work, short life
We have several of these adapters. We use them to connect to projectors from 2in1's. Our only disappointment is the life. They seem to last a few months and then quit working. Sure wish they were more reliable.

Somewhat what I expected.
I bought the StarTech.com for the sole purpose of having a VGA connection to my HDMI plug in for my TV. I already had a DVI to HDMI mini port adaptor not too long ago that stopped working, so I figured for the extra money this would be quite the treat. I was wrong. Worked twice, then stopped working.
I bought my Surface specifically to use for working and teaching on the road. I bought the adapter to connect the Surface to an LCD projector. The adapter worked well twice by just like lugging it in to connect with a projector but then nothing the next time.
