What type of whiteboard do you need?

Dry-erase or whiteboard

Ideal for: Conference rooms and classrooms where brainstorming, training, and group meetings are held.

Features:

  • Can be written on with special dry–erase markers and then wiped clean.
  • A board made of a porcelain magnetic surface resists long–term ink stains, dents, and scratches (will continue to look new after years of use). Post notices on the board with magnets. Low–glare surface ensures distortion–free viewing from all angles.
  • A Total Erase™ surface has a subtle grid pattern that guides writing and makes it easy to draw lines or charts, but is not visible from a distance. Never stains; cleansers not needed to wipe ink off of the board. Resists scratches.
  • A board with a standard melamine writing surface is an economical and basic solution. Offers write–on/wipe–off capabilities.
  • Some boards come with additional panels hinged to the main board that open and pivot or slide to provide up to 11 additional writing surfaces.
  • Combination boards have a dry–erase and bulletin surface.
What’s available: Standard board sizes are 2’ X 1’, 3’ X 2’, 4’ X 3’, 5’ X 3’, 6’ X 4’.

PC or electric whiteboard

Ideal for: Conference rooms and classrooms where brainstorming, training, and group sessions are held. Allows for meeting notes to be printed exactly as written on the board, eliminating the need for note taking.

Features:

  • Write–on/wipe–off properties of a traditional dry–erase board.
  • A PC whiteboard directly connects to a PC or laptop so meeting notes can be saved directly to a computer, printed, emailed, faxed, or published to a Web site.
  • With a data projector, turn the PC whiteboard into a "touch–sensitive" screen to display presentations. A touch–sensitive PC whiteboard allows users to control software with a touch of the finger or any standard dry–erase pen.
  • An electric whiteboard comes with a built–in printer that only allows meeting notes to be printed.
  • Some PC and electric whiteboards can be attached to a mobile stand (typically sold separately) to be transferred from meeting room to meeting room.
What’s available: 5’ X 4’ PC whiteboards.
