Duct Tape Boat Race | Staples.com

Duct Tape Boat Race

Set sail this summer with your very own duct tape boat and challenge your friends to a friendly race across the ocean. Or just a bucket of water. Are you ready for quality time with your kids? Let’s get started.
Step 1:

Cover both sides of a letter-sized piece of copy paper with strips of duct tape.

Step 2:

Be sure to trim the edges to even them out.

Step 3:

Once your piece of paper is fully covered in tape, you'll need to fold it in half.

Step 4:

Take each of the folded edges and fold them to make a triangle. Be sure to leave yourself about an inch at the bottom.

Step 5:

Now form a hat by folding down a flap on each side of your sheet.

Step 6:

Now open the hat and allow the two corners to meet to form a diamond shape.

Step 7:

Fold the two corners up all the way to form a triangle.

Step 8:

Open the triangle to form a pistachio.

Step 9:

Pull on the two upper tips of the triangles to form the boat.

Step 10:

Set sail on a body of water and use a straw and your breath to captain your ship. Then send your ship over the Internet seas by sharing on social media. Be sure to tag @Staples.
