I bought and returned one recently. Then searched the Internet and found the problem I was experiencing has been around for a while and apparently never addressed by Apple.

You may find that this external trackpad works well for several minutes then begins to work erractically - jerky movement of cursor, intermittent loss of connection to Mac, reduced area on trackpad which will respond to your touch.

Calling Apple does not help as they don't offer free support on this accessory - charges $19.00 if you want to speak with someone.

I returned this device and purchased the new Logitech trackpad for Mac - works perfectly.

We've been using two of these trackpads for some time now - they make scrolling through large documents so easy! I prefer a mouse for precise positioning, but for getting around (scrolling, clicking links, etc.) they are such a joy to use!

I am a professional writer, and I spend hours working on the computer each day. I love the trackpad on my MacBook Pro, so this is really just that on steroids. With OSX 10.8, the available gestures and results are amazing! It is fast, accurate, and it took less than 5 minutes to set up. Worth every penny!

I chose the trackpad because I'd been using the one on my Macbook Pro & liked it. This one does not work as well as the one integrated into the laptop. I am especially disappointed with the tracking response. The tracking is sluggish which makes it difficult to place the arrow in precise locations. I wish I had chosen the mouse instead.

I love it. The only issues I have had is when I touch it with jelly or something sticky on my fingers and the surface needs to be cleaned but what do you expect. I leave it on 24/7 and the battery life is fine. The only other issue I have is after prolonged periods of intense use (Lightroom 4 and PS CS6), my hand sometimes goes to sleep. But that is seldom so overall I highly recommend it. I would not go back to a mouse again.

Sometimes you just need something a little different. Have Trackpad, will travel. It is a totally different experience.It is very smooth to use, although I am hoping that eventually they will come out with a larger one. Much larger. There are some things I use it for where I find myself at the edge of the pad. But for now I am extremely happy with the Trackpad. I also have a Logitech trackpad for my Windows 8 desktop.Almost identical in appearance and the way it functions. Also very pleased with the Logitech, but same problem, wish it was much larger.
