Love the Apple Trackpad

I've been wanting the Apple Magic Trackpad for a while and through Staples reward program, I was able to purchase it a a small discount. The track pad is wonderful. Sensitive to the touch, so if you have jittery fingers, please exercise finger constraints. All the gestures available for the track pad make great use of all the web browsing that I do. Enhancements to photos , newsletters, and anything with photo (graphic) content come to life with just taps of your finger. I love to slide my pages and expand them with swipes and touches. Overall great product.

Might not work for you.

I bought and returned one recently. Then searched the Internet and found the problem I was experiencing has been around for a while and apparently never addressed by Apple.

You may find that this external trackpad works well for several minutes then begins to work erractically - jerky movement of cursor, intermittent loss of connection to Mac, reduced area on trackpad which will respond to your touch.

Calling Apple does not help as they don't offer free support on this accessory - charges $19.00 if you want to speak with someone.

I returned this device and purchased the new Logitech trackpad for Mac - works perfectly.

This "goes to sleep" way too quickly and I am frustrated trying to wake it up to use it. I am having difficulty learning how to use it, and I've been a computer user for many years.

the apple trackpad was not up to my exspection and the way it operated for me, was not smooth.it seem to me that icould operate like i should.my wife has a hp lappad and i have more controll of than i did of the apple.icould not get to go where i wanted it to go and alot of time it would go where it wanted to go.ithink ineed away to controll the movement of the pointer more, because it would go where it wanted go sometimes.maybe it was me but it was verry much out of cotrol at times.times it would not move no matter where you would place your finger and move it.sorry for the bad rating.

I am a professional writer, and I spend hours working on the computer each day. I love the trackpad on my MacBook Pro, so this is really just that on steroids. With OSX 10.8, the available gestures and results are amazing! It is fast, accurate, and it took less than 5 minutes to set up. Worth every penny!

  Trackpads are usually only for laptops. With this Apple Magic Trackpad, you can now have trackpads for the Mac desktop computers, just like the trackpad on the MacBook Pro ... but bigger. Swiping through pages online feels just like flipping through pages in a book or magazine. And inertial scrolling makes moving up and down a page more natural than ever.
