Design has changed for the better!

Avery recently changed the pinback badge holders to a top loading design, while the photos here and many of the reviews refer to the old style, side loading holders. These badges are NOT flimsy, you do NOT need tape or a staple to hold the insert in because the plastic is a snug pocket not a sleeve open at two ends, and we were all around delighted with this great value. They held up fine for a three day conference. The attendees liked them. The pin backs were all fine quality. The included printable insert pages were also convenient and excellent. Much better than expected. There is a slight pebbly texture to the plastic, just so you know.

it was pretty easy to use. The ink smeared on some. The card stock was so thin that it was easy for two of them to stick together

I used a laser printer for the micro-perforated badge inserts. The problem was separating the badges. I think the process would have been easier if the stock were a little heavier.

Top loading badges are the best!

Avery products are the best as far as quality goes. These top loading name badges (#74540) are so much easier to use then the side loading badges. I have used Avery name badges for many years for different meetings and events my office hosts. There are usually many guests and the top loading feature of these badges makes the task of badge making move more swiftly and with much greater ease...especially when you are making hundreds of badges at a time.
