Q: I bought this product, which says that you get about 2600 pages with it. My Brother DCP 7040 already says Replace Toner. When i check the total pages printed on the machine, it only printed 1600 instead of the 2600 that's advertised. Something is wrong with this product. I would not recommend this product to a friend. Asked on 12/21/2009 by Anonymous from NYC Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: Graphics are too rich. Answered on 12/22/2009 by Armen from Northridge, CA A: Put a piece of duct/electrical tape over the hole on the right side of the drum cartridge to block the light. I did that when I got the error msg that meant I was supposed to replace the ink cartridge and got at least probably another 700-800 pages (and I print a lot w/tables/graphs, etc). Replace when you start getting light vertical lines in the print - you'll know. Best to keep one on hand because when that starts you REALLY need to change it. Answered on 4/20/2010 by oldnightnurse from FL A: I would take this back to the place purchased it from w/receipt in hand and the machine that stated you only got 1600 pages to ask for a refund or replacement; and they may tell you or ask you if you have printed photos or documents that required much more ink that regular documents which may have used up more ink than normal document printing? What do you think? Used more ink than normal document prinitng? Worth a try to talk to the place of purchase w/ receipt in-hand! Answered on 1/13/2010 by Barbie from Pembroke, VA A: the original cartridge that comes with the printer has a shorter life span and prints less than the replacement cartridge Answered on 1/26/2010 by Ellen from boston Ma

Q: The online information on this machine MFC-7340 says that it does COLOR too ??? Asked on 10/12/2009 by Johnazon from Saint Helena Island Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: What it says is that it SCANS in color, in other words, you can scan color photos/documents into your computer in color. It does not mean that it can PRINT those scans in color however. It is, as stated, a black and white laser multifunction unit. They are telling it correctly, but I can see how it might be easy to mis-interpret!
