My Brother Laser Printer (HL 1440) was purchased for my daughter for college. That was 7 years ago and the printer is still going strong. She gave it back to me after graduating in 4 years. After using it for 2 years, I bought a new laser printer last year figuring the printer's drum would wear out and I'd need a new laser printer since buying a new drum just isn't worth it; too pricey. The new laser printer is still in its box and the Brother HL 1440 is still going strong but needed a new toner cartridge. So I bought one. Who knows how long this printer will last. The cartridge is easy to install and the installation directions are clear. Go Brother! Great products!! Sorry I bought a new Laser Printer though . . .

I wish the price of the Brother Toner Catridge was less. I could have gone out and bought new printers for what I ended up paying just for the replacement toner cartridges over the years. Also, I wish that there was a generic toner cartridge that would fit the Brother Printer. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one. Because of this, I will never buy another Brother printer again.

I ordered this cartridge and received the next day as promised. Installation was fairly easy to figure out (once you figured out how to separate the drum from the toner cartridge itself so you could replace it with the new one). My only issue is that it produced sketchy writing on my printouts like it was going to run out of ink instead of behaving like a brand new cartridge should. The reason I have given this product 3 stars even though it didn't work is because I made one phone call to staples online, spoke to Mary who was very helpful. She is arranging to have a courier pick up the defective cartridge and bring a new one at the same time AND it's supposed to be next day. So I am giving three stars due to the service and efforts that Staples has afforded me today with no hassle. When I receive the replacement cartridge and again I will receive an email asking me to rate the product--hopefully next time it gets a five!
