Choose From a Rich Variety of Caffeinated Medium Roast K-Cup Coffee Pods
Keurig offers caffeinated medium roast K-Cups from its own brands as well as licensed and partner brands. While they all have significant levels of caffeine and pack grounds made from medium roast coffee beans, each has a distinct set of characteristics. Some only have the natural flavors of the beans used while others include additional flavors like coconut, vanilla, and hazelnut. For example, Starbucks® pods offer smooth and intense coffee with chocolate and caramel flavors while Green Mountain Coffee® K-cup pods do not use artificial flavors. Most of these caffeinated medium roast K-Cups only hold ground coffee but a few include creamer and sweetener as well.
Consider Bean Origin When Shopping for Caffeinated Medium Roast K-Cup Coffee
A K-Cup pod can have grounds prepared from single-origin beans or a blend made from beans from different regions. It may also use only 100 percent Arabica coffee or a mix of Arabica and Robusta beans. Arabica beans yield brews with strong aromatic flavors while Robusta coffee has a higher caffeine content. Pods made with blends of Arabica and Robusta tend to have more complex characters.
Where beans are grown also influences their body, taste, aroma, acidity, and balance. Most K-Cup pods use coffee grown in South and Central America. Central American beans have a light body, low acidity, and fruity flavors. South American varieties make heavy-bodied coffee. African and Arabian beans deliver fruity, floral, chocolatey, and other exotic overtones while Asian beans have earthy flavors. Combining beans from different regions usually creates an exceptionally balanced and bright coffee with sweet undertones.
How Much Caffeine Is in Caffeinated Medium Roast K-Cup Coffee?
Each 8-ounce cup of caffeinated medium roast K-Cup pod coffee contains 75 to 150 mg of caffeine. The actual content varies depending on a number of factors including the variety of coffee beans used and production steps.
What Is the Difference Between Caffeinated Medium Roast K-Cup Coffee and Other Coffee Roasts?
Medium roast coffee beans express both origin flavors as well as those introduced by the roasting process. Light roast coffee offers more origin character but no roasting flavors while dark roast varieties taste burnt with bittersweet flavors and very little origin character.
Are Caffeinated Medium Roast K-Cup Coffee Kosher Certified?
Yes. Keurig certifies its pods with the following kosher certification organizations: Orthodox Union, Montreal Vaad Hair, and The Organized Kashrus Laboratories. You can find their seals on the pods' boxes and labels.
