Excellent Color, but has a short cartrige life and a little costly, compared to others. Bonus Color packs with all the colors can't be found for this series that would make the price affordable since there are 5 color cartriges to replace plus a black cartrige.

The price has gone up about 30% in the past two years. That's ridiculous for an OLD model printer (over five years). This printer was not particularly cheap and the cost of ink has been debilitating. I often cannot use it because I run out of ink and cannot afford to buy more. The draft quality setting is USELESS (pale grey that is unreadable when printed) and the fact that you cannot print in just black when a colored cartridge has run out makes it once again useless and frustrating. Would not buy again. The only positive is the CD tray that allows printing on printable CD/DVDs. If it weren't for that I would have thrown it out a window years ago. I realize this is a review about cartridges, but if you're looking at the cartridges, you should know about the printer. It's not cost efficient in any way.
Comments about Epson T048420 Yellow Ink Cartridge:
This product could be 5 star except for price. OEM Cartridges generally perform better than their generic counterparts. The major issue is that the printer manufactures continue to use printer ink as their cash cow by selling the printers cheap and the ink way over priced. Gillette invented this marketing tactic eons ago. Anyone using ebay can easily find the identical OEM ink, with current date, at remarkably lower prices; so, the cost must be minimal in relation to the selling prices thru traditional channels.
Comments about Epson T048420 Yellow Ink Cartridge:
I've never had an Epson ink cartridge clog, even if the printer had not been used for more than three years. One day I was printing some photos and I ran out of ink, with my current Epson color printer. For one reason or another I could not get to Staples to purchase a replacement ink cartridge. So I went into my garage and retrieved my old Epson printer, which had been boxed up and sitting on the shelf, unused, for several years. I connected it to my computer, set it up, and it started printing as if it had been being used the whole time. My experience with several other brands of ink jet printers (HP, Canon, etc.) has been that if you do not print for a while the ink will dry and clog the nozzle, causing the cartridge to need to be replaced or repairs to the printhead assembly. I have never had this problem with any Epson ink jet printer.
