Decent but short changes the buyer

HP ink carts are as decent as any other name brand carts. Nothing truly spectacular.
For printing photos with the 02 I can not say if the ink is true and sharp since the printer that uses the carts appears to be one of the lowest quality photo printers I have used in over ten years.

The main issue I have with HP ink carts is that you are never allowed by the printer to completely use the carts. Once the ink level gets to a certain level, the printer forces you to replace the cart even though there is ink left and there is not a quality drop in printing with the cart. I have used other printers and continued to squeeze quite a few more pages out of the carts after the printer wants them replaced. This is especially frustrating when you are printing test docs or drafts and quality really doesn't matter but the $50 cart price does matter.

In addition, we have learned that you DO NOT want to allow the HP assigned expiration date to run out on the cart since the printer will NOT permit you to continue using the cart (or the printer in most cases) until the cart is replaced even though the cart is working perfectly.

Truthfully, if you are looking for a great printer and great economical ink to go with it - look somewhere else than HP.
