I have used the older Verison of this phone for a while we just upgraded to the newer design in our new office. these phones work awsome. Last poster didnt read the manual. Infact if you do not plug in the powercord you can only use line 1. so simply put plug it in all 4 lines work. As far as having a line roll to the next you dont do that on a phone you do that with the phone company. they do that for you. I like the feature of transfering a call from any line into any office in the building. i have no idea how this thing does it but it works surprisingly well

I purchased this phone 8 months ago, and in that short time period this phone has been a total piece of junk. I bought it because I have always trusted the name brand. Big mistake. I work in small office and I make and/or receive 10 to 20 calls a day. Not at all high volume. The LCD display only works when it wants to (wish I could do that) and the answering machine feature is very tempermental. I tried to return the phone after only 5 or 6 months, but I was informed that electronics can only be returned within 14 days of purchase. The reason given to me for that is because of how quickly technology "changes". Funny. Better explanation for "changes" should be "falls apart". As of this morning I am happy to report that the phone has apparently decided to go on strike..........as now it no longer takes incoming calls. Great "change" keep up the inferior work!!

I like the phones but I would add a few features. You can't share phone directories between phones. The chords are too short. I would have made the memory keys a one touch dial instead of having to select a line, then the stored number button. For some reason, my headsets do not work on this phone. The 4 lines do not work through one phone jack, it takes 2 separate jacks. But overall, they will do what I need to do.

I wanted this phone so can operate multiple phone lines togather without putting the other lines on hold. That is exactly what it does not do. U can not use hand set and base togather and if u want to use one line u have to put other line on hold. I agree with Dr.Will completly .It is not for dental or medical office

NOT VERY SECURE you can actually pick up a in-use line that someone is using and listen or join in. No alert tone on answering machine only a blinking light, whats with that? Would not recommend at full price

I use the phones for an insurance business, where we transfer calls and forward calls all day long. The phone system doesn't allow to forward or transfer a call to another line, VERY IRRITATING when it was supposed to do this. So my main line is bogged down too much. I'm going to opgrade phones in a month or two. You spend an extra $50 more for the upgraded phones just to have an answering machine. But it is better than the AT&T phone that is the same price.

  You can set one or more additional phones to act as a voice mail box (up to 16 units in the system), each voice mail box can pick up only one message at a time. To prevent the same voice mail left on several units you should assign different pickup delay times for each phone..
  
  You may connect up to 16 RCA 25423, 25424 and/or 25425 phones to the system at one time. Features like intercom, page and call transfer may be used among the units, but Line 1 must be common for all 25423, 25424, or 25425 units for these features to work properly. You may choose to share or privatize lines 2, 3 and 4.

i also want to buy additional phones for this base however it seems you can only include 1 additional handset and must buy other bases in order to expand beyond 2 phones i only want one base with ans. system so do you have to buy additional bases in order to expand and then one handset for each.

We have 2 small businesses that we run out of our home. We want one phone that will have the capability to answer 3 lines at one time. We have 3 different phone numbers, one will be our home phone. These lines will ring a lot. We need a phone that will answer the other line(s) if I am on another line and go to that phone number's voice mail. In one of the reviews I read that you cannot have a fax line on line one. We was going to put our home phone w/fax on line one. Can we do it?
