Yes. It is expensive.

But don't let that price tag hold you down!
It's worth the money.
These pencils from what I've seen, are hard to find in the States!
There are many selections of Staedtler, but this is the only one I find at Staples?
Well, it does not matter.

Pros-
*Stabilized Handle
*Glides very well
*Somewhat compact in size

Cons-
*Eraser. (You might want to purchase a separate block eraser, these just don't put up to it)

I use these pencils everyday, from writing essays to drawing, and no matter how many times I drop it, it is very sturdy.

**note. in my opinion (with my experience) there are counterfeits; totally made out of plastic (which break really easily) be aware. the real ones are also plastic; however, they have a slightly rugged feel, you can feel it.

Otherwise, I highly recommend this mechanical pencil!
