I use the computer a lot these days, so I only draw on paper with a technical fountain pen once in a while. If I don't clean the pens after every use- always a messy job- they are clogged when I go to use them again in a month or two.

Non-refillable (disposable) pens like the Staedtler Pigment Liners are much more expensive but never have to be cleaned- they are ideal for occasional users, and even for daily use.

The Pigment Liners produce linework that is nearly as clean as a real refillable technical pen. The four pen assortment covers the range of line widths likely to be needed for precision drafting and sketching.

I would like to see these sold separately because I use the .01 thin pen size the most, but have to buy another whole set to replace the pen I need.

Really, really nice pens. Dark ink doesn't fade easily, which makes it good for things that are going to be put up. Only real con is that the ink runs out pretty quickly. I buy a new set every six months or so, which, when compared to the Sakura pigment liners, is really quick. Those last for about a year and a half on average, but the quality is nowhere near the same.

I do fine line drawing and love that these pens dry fast. I can draw fast and freely without smearing. Staedtler pens are hard to find, so I'm glad that Staples carries them

I'm working on an art project that has me tracing an intricate pattern on to a painted piece and then going over all the lines I traced with a liner pen. Very intensive work. This pen works great. By having several line widths I can add my own textures to the piece.
