      I purchased this today because my last shredder gave it up last night. I was nervous about this shredder after reading the other reviews, so I went to the store to check them out in person. I was satisfied with the construction. At home, I found the wheels easy to pop in and everything was sturdy. The shredder was very well packaged, and it worked well the first time I turned it on. I've already filled the container once and the unit is surprisingly quite for a relativity inexpensive shredder. I don't have any expectations that this shredder will last 15 years, but I would expect to get a good few years of use out of it and it seems to better constructed and have better features for the same price I payed for the last shredder.

          Box came in all damaged. The shredder looked like it was a return. The styrofoam in the bottom of the shredder is nearly impossible to take out. Jammed in real tight. Have a vacuum ready when you cut the foam apart.

              Had Staples brand shredder before this one and it broke after 1 year. Purchased another and it didn't work when I took it out of the box. This one is heavy and I had difficulty "just popping" the wheels in like the salesperson instructed. The wheels did not fit evenly and it wobbles. It is too cumbersome to return to store. I have found "Staples" brand products to be poor quality.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                Got this for a family member. How embarrassing when it wouldn't work. I will NEVER buy another Staples brand electronic/mechanical device again. I know "things happen", but come on. I've purchased several other (non-staples) shredders over the years and never once had an issue. Maybe it was just a strange coincidence, but I'm not willing to test that theory again, at least until I see somebody else writing reviews saying they love they Staples product they purchased. Thank you for your time.

                    Had a Staples Shredder 12 sheet shredder for about 5 years. Last night, I gave it severe indigestion when I accidently fed it junk mail that had a penny clued to it. Bought this one as a replacement. Came out of the box OK, Box was in good shape, casters installed with no problems encountered and it sits level. Finished shredding junk mail this afternoon. The paper slot is a bit narrower than my old one and it is a bit harder to activate but so far, I'm happy with it for what I got it for.

                      Our shredder is about a year old. Everytime we put in a paper to shred the temperature light goes on. We did do alot of shredding on friday but it worked fine, sometime over the weekend this happened. Can you tell me thing to check to get it working again? Thank you
