You can even insert more cards, like a driver's license. It is a vertical badge holder and the hole for the clip is on the top. The badge can still fall if the heat sealed bottom or the side comes apart, but the seals are usually very durable. The cards can be read from as far back as 3 feet, and the holder should not interfere with the card reader.
