Q: The dimensions of this envelope are 4 3/8 x 5 3/4, I'd like to know which is the width and which is the height of the envelope, so that I can design a card to go into it. THANKS! Asked on 5/26/2010 by Gina from Yarmouth, ME Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: Gina, if you are using 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock, cut it in half so that it is 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, and fold it. That card will fit into the envelope either way you wish to use it...side opening or bottom opening. These envelopes are designed for a quarter of a standard sheet, which I just described. It can't get any easier! Have fun designing a card in either direction. Answered on 6/1/2010 by Stamp-a-maniac from San Antonio, TX A: They are 4 3/8" high and 5 3/4" wide. They are perfect for cards made from 8.5 x 11 card stock cut in half to make 2 cards of 8.5 x 5.5 then folded in half. Enjoy! Gramma Answered on 6/1/2010 by Gramma from Los Lunas, NM A: Most envelopes are wider than they are tall, so I would guess that the larger number is the width and the 1st number is the height. If you are still in doubt you could just use a ruler to figure out which is which. Answered on 6/26/2010 by Ash from Lincoln, NE A: 5 3/4 is the width; 4 3/8 is the heighth. Answered on 7/8/2010 by granny al from Findlay, OH A: wow, it looks like this is a bit late for you Gina, but for others who have the same question; when looking at the front of the envelope, the width (left to right) is 5 3/4" and the height (top to bottom) is 4 3/8.
