It supports laptops up to 15.4” and features dual fans to help keep you and your laptop cool, along with open edges to allow for optimal airflow. I've been a frequent user of the Targus Chill Mats over the years and appreciate the contiuned refinements to the product. This rendition of the mat features a self-contained USB cable that runs the fan. Users don't need to worry about losing the cable as its connected to the mat itself. The new mat runs quieter than its predecessor, although over time and use the fans tend to get louder. I wonder if its a planned obsolecence as my previous Targus Chill Mats started off quietly, but got noisier over time.

This is the 2nd Targus cooling fan I've bought for my laptop, both with the same result. When I bought the 1st one, it was fine for awhile. After I used it for a few weeks, it started to get loud when it was running. I threw it away because I had not saved the packaging or receipt. This time I saved both-luckily. After just a short time, the same thing happened to this one, so I returned it today.

I like the unit but if you do not have your laptop plug in to an outlet it wears down your battery. My laptop also slips off of it.
