11x17, Tabloid and Ledger Size Paper
Trending now
Not all printing jobs are not created equally. Some may require you to print small photos or extend beyond the typical paper sizes of letter size (8.5” x 11.5”) or legal size (8.5” x 14”) to larger sizes, like 11" x 17". Also known as tabloid or ledger paper, this larger size provides more printing space that is ideal for detailed architectural, construction, and engineering drawings.
Along with that, 11" x 17" paper can serve a number of purposes around your home or office. Let’s dive a little deeper into these large sheets of paper.
Best Uses for 11" x 17" Paper
11" x 17" paper, or 28 x 43 centimeters if you’re using the metric system, works great for situations you might come across in architectural or engineering offices. It provides more space for technical drawings to allow for the detailed specifications they typically need.
Aside from technical uses, wide-format 11" x 17" paper can come in handy for a number of industries. 11" x 17" paper is typically used for restaurant menus to list dishes, descriptions, and prices. It also works well for marketing materials such as direct mailings, brochures, and booklets. Of course, 11" x 17" paper requires wide format tabloid printers, which we also offer.

Is A4 Paper the Same as 11" x 17" Paper?
If you do not print often, you may have only heard of the ISO standard labels for paper, such as A3 or A4 and you have no idea what they mean. These sheets of paper can be measure as:
- A3 is roughly equivalent to 11" x 17" paper (they are 11.69 x 16.54 inches)
- A4 is roughly equivalent to 8.3 x 11 paper (they are 8.27 x 11.69 inches)
A3 is also called “legal” size and is a little bit bigger than standard US Letter paper. A4, on the other hand, corresponds to “tabloid” sizes. So, if you hear these terms being thrown around at your local printing shop, you’ll finally understand the lingo.
