A 5 x 7 envelope, sometimes called an A7, is a standard paper envelope used for mailing or handing out invitations, cards, save-the-dates and more. Though it is a bit bigger than these dimensions, it’s called this because it’s the suitable size for cards and other materials that are five inches by seven inches. Self seal envelopes are a popular choice because they’re easy to use and don’t require licking or applying moisture or glue. All you need to do is simply peel off the paper strip and press the flap down onto the already adhesive strip.

Flip-and-seal varieties are designed with strips of latex adhesive both on the top flap and along the open edge of the envelope. So, this type has extra security and is less likely to fall open in transit. It’s a popular choice among businesses.
