Though commonly used for bagels, toast and other bread products, toasters can make a variety of different foods. Fun breakfast frozen foods like waffles and pancakes can be prepared in a toaster, along with pop up pastries and strudels. How to Clean a Toaster
Toasters can be intimidating to clean since they’re an enclosed appliance that you can’t submerge in water. However, you rarely need to clean the entire toaster – you only really need to clean the crumb tray. Be sure follow these steps to do so:
- Always unplug your toaster prior to cleaning. If it has been recently used, make sure it has cooled off completely.
- Locate your toaster’s crumb tray, which is typically located at the bottom of your toaster, and remove it.
- Dump the contents in the garbage can, and then thoroughly rinse the tray with soap and water.
- After you have allowed the tray to fully dry, replace it in the toaster so your appliance will be ready for the next use.
- If you use your toaster frequently, be sure to clean it often as a large amount of accumulated food crumbs and debris can be a fire hazard.
