Bare Ground Clear Way potassium acetate provides fast and reliable anti-icing and deicing performance. Clear Way potassium acetate contains no damaging chlorides, glycols or methanols. Clear Way is completely water soluble, readily biodegradable, non flammable and is safer for bridges and roadway surfaces. Bare Ground's Clear Way potassium acetate meets FAA specifications and can be applied to runways and taxiways. A low freeze point of -4F makes it an ideal deicer for environmentally sensitive areas. Application: Pavement (including runways and taxiways, and bridge applications) potassium is generally applied as is (undiluted) using existing spray equipment. Any spray equipment that conveniently and uniformly applies the liquid to the pavement should be acceptable. If the rate of spray application is adjustable, potassium should be applied at 0.5 gallons / 1000 ft2 of surface area treated. Higher rates of application (up to 1.5 gallons / 1000 ft2) can be made as experience warrants. In general, low spray pressures resulting in large droplet sizes are preferred.
