To receive a Staples® tax exempt customer number, you must email (taxexempt@staples.com) or fax (877-326-8557) the following information to our tax department:
- Tax Exempt Documentation
- Name, phone and email
- Staples Account #
- Company Name
- Order number which requires a tax credit (if applicable)
For government agencies to become tax exempt, you must email (taxexempt@staples.com) or fax (877-326-8557) our tax department a letter on government agency letterhead containing the appropriate Federal Tax ID number, name, and your signature.
NOTE:Â There may be a delay in your request if the information sent in is incorrect or incomplete. If your contact information is included with the request, our tax department will contact you and provide the specific requirements needed to continue with your application.
