- Smooth backing is recommended for placement on smooth floors, such as hardwood or tile. Cleated backing is recommended for placement on carpeted surfaces. Universal backing can be used on either smooth or carpeted surfaces.

The high-twist, heat-set nylon resists crushing to better trap dirt and extend the useful life of the mat. Classic Plush mats are certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI). These mats are fade-resistant and impervious to bleach.
