I bought this for the first time in May of 2015 and the price was $81.99 before tax and shipping. We put new carpet in another room with a desk and wanted to now put a chair mat in that room too. Not for thick carpets/rugs
The mat arrived in a timely manner. It snapped open and lies flat. So far (2 weeks) it has not dimpled. My only dislike is that it slides all over. The pins on the bottom are not long enough and the mat is easily moved by the office chair wheels. Having to realign the mat every day is irritating. If you have thick carpet or rugs I would not recommend this chair mat

High risk for trips; it does not lay flat
This mat does not lay flat. I gave it a few weeks to lay down, but it has not gotten better, as proved by a recent trip crossing the mat. WATCH OUT. I am late to return it, but this is a product liability issue that I certainly hope Staples deals with ethically. (Close up this photo shows the shadow from the raised edge.)

Chair Slides Very Easily
I like the fact that the chair slides under the desk very easily, but it doesn't stay put if I move. At least, I no longer have to struggle to move the chair into position. More sturdy than I antiipated.

Ultimat chair mat
We tried 2 other mats before this one and the chair would sink into the mat so I returned them.
This one is great as the chair glides easily on it.
Sorry to say I used to but ours from Costco fit under $20 but they stopped selling them.
This one cost me about $120.

Very good chair mat
Because it's made of poly carbonate it is very hard. Consequently it does tend to move a bit on low-pile carpet. But this is a very good mat, worth this minor inconvenience. I expect fewer cracks because of the composition, although I have only owned the mat for a short time period.

Solid Mat BUT Migrates On The Carpet
I've had a home office for nearly 50 years. In that time I've owned many chair mats. This one is firm even though it is thinner than others I've owned. Quality Floortex Mat
This is a high quality mat. I was hesitant about spending this amount, but I am of the opinion that it was worth it. There are absolutely no dents or dimples from my chair wheels. This material is very rigid. Furthermore, there has been no travel in the mat on my carpet. I have not had to make any adjustments. Would buy this same mat again. Worth the extra.

Floortex Ultimat Rectangular Chair Mat
This mat is by far the best mat to use on carpet with an office chair. It stays put and is firm. There is no traveling and pulling up or cracking. This is our second purchase and enjoy this carpet protection. Great product.

Worth the price
10 days in and I am very happy with this chair mat. I work from home and sit in my office chair on the mat at least 40 hours per week. It is far superior to my previous (less expensive) mat, which was softer plastic and formed indentations almost right away that I kept rolling into.

No dimpling, cracking, or splitting
These mats are holding up. There is no dimpling, cracking, or splitting. We have not had a problem with the mats sliding around on the carpet in either of our offices. These mats are more expensive than the cheaper mats we used to get, but I anticipate that we will not need to replace them for many years.
