No sharpening needed really.
Your artist can keep going and going without interruption. Comes in a decent variety of colors as well.

At least 1/2 the crayons were barely bold enough to see even though they were vibrant colors. This was for an elderly person and we were disappointed she could only use about 1/2 of them.
