I have had good luck with this device.
About 12 years ago my wife and I almost died from propane gas leak in furnace. Since then I have had two of these alarms in my house. One in bedroom, one in Kitchen [propane gas stove]. Why does it need a battery?
Apparently the only purpose the required battery performs is to keep the unit from beeping. Couple hours of power outage and it drains the battery - beep beep beep. Worst product I've ever purchased. Trashed it.

Battery drains when you lose power and loud
So loud when battery drained that I feel like I now need a CO2 detector for the deaf.

Do not buy. They are not reliable
Do not buy! Ours is only 2 1/2 years old and already not working. We have 3 in our house and this is only one going off which was upstairs. Gas stove is in kitchen. We replaced batteries and same thing.
Warning says gas. I have video’s of it if needed showing it and others show zero on display.

eats the battery like a cookie when power is out
had a 5 hour power outage and the batter master almost halfway through it so started loudly beeping at 1 am

Doesn’t last 20 years
Detector worked fine but ended its life two years early based on the mfg date 2017 May 25 on the back. Not paying a premium price for another one.

Continuous Chirping
Our's is only 3 years old and now chirps every 10 seconds, only at night, even with new battery. It displays lB with a brand new battery. Will look to replace with a different manufacturer.

Awful performance/Garbage
I bought this and put it our basement. We had a gas leak. I found out because I have a great sense of smell. The detector never went off. I was pretty upset because I had gotten a headache from the gas smell it was so bad. This is 0 stars!! This product was not cheap, just cheaply made.

Doesn’t work
I bought this alarm one year ago. Today, a neighbor smelled gas coming from our apartment. The gas company came and identified a leak in the range. The alarm never recognized the leak.

Avoid at all cost!
While petsitting for a friend I could smell gas in her home. Gas company detected 2 leaks in the flex pipe, one at each end, put just pinhole leaks. This detector was plugged in right next to the stove, yet no alarm. Then he checked the dryer connection, and that had a visibly cracked casing and was a serious leak. Disappointed
I purchased this product a couple of years ago and it’s been nothing but a pain in that every time we have power outages it constantly beeps what does the battery serve
I have now removed it from the wall and removed the battery and about to toss it in the garbage

Faulty low battery alerts
Just purchased and within 24 hours received low battery chirps. I replaced the battery with a brand new battery, within 24 hours more low battery chirps. Disappointed to say the least

Broke only a year after warranty expired
Worked fine for 6 years, then started chirping with an ERR on the display. Planned obsolescence. Warranty is 5 years. Make a product that lasts. I paid way too much money for a product that breaks after 6 years.

Power failure disruption
Power failure will disrupt normal operations causing the alarms to go off and unable reset.

I have this brand and this model at home and work. It alerted us to an issue with a borrowed LP forklift that exposed all of us to near immediate exposure. Without the trusted name and digital readout, it would have been easy to have simply considered it a false alarm and ignored it.

Piece of crap!!!!!
I've had this for six months. Tonight the power went out for a few hours and it started chirping every minute or two. When the power came back on, it continued to chirp. It has been off for a few hours. The screen is blank, yet it continues to chirp. What an annoying waste of time and money. I guess my only recourse is to smash it to pieces!

we bought the alarm two years ago. today it started chirping erratically every 15 or 20 minutes. when I tried to reset it, it started squealing and displaying 888, then other numbers then 0. i tried multiple times and every time, once i leave it alone, it goes back to chirping intermittently. it's scaring my dog!

Detected explosive gas - from a car battery.
I came home one night and heard a faint beeping alarm. Checked around outside and determined it was coming from inside the house.
Carefully went inside, did not smell natural gas, but did smell something odd.
