Concept good but product defective
As a former teacher I thought this would be a good tool to use with my grandchild. However the product is defective. The hot spots simply don't work and Pete the Cat gives incorrect answers. I cannot see the point of this toy
This toy does not help with anything but memorization - which has its value but it is not the purpose of the toy. It is noisy and does not help with reading or adding. My children memorized all the questions the first time through and have just been using it for the silly noises it makes. The Leapfrog products are more educational by a long way.

Love Pete the Cat Kindergarten Rocks!

Great fun for the car

We Love Hot Dots!
We love hot dots and this pete the cat version is great! My daughter is almost 4 but was able to do most of the questions with me for this level. Then, her sister helped and now the two of them play together with it. I love how it's educational and fun at the same time. Great toy!

Pete the Cat is great! Our 5 year old just started kindergarten and loves Hot Dots. He is very familiar with the preschool version, so he picked up the Kindergarten Rocks level very easily. kindergarten basics!
My son enjoys his Pete the Cat Kindergarten Rocks and was eager to open it. He likes the fact that he can play and learn at the same time. I was surprised how well he was able to navigate through the books with the pen with minimal help. This is truly what every kindergartner should have.

My son found this fun!
My soon to be 6 year old really enjoyed these! He can't read other than sight words yet so I had to sit with him to do the first book but what is nice is once we did the first book together he was able to do pretty much the entire second book on his own. Who doesn't love Pete the Cat?? This toy was a big hit with my K student. He loved answering the different questions and got quite excited when he answered them correctly. He found it fun and rewarding.

Perfect for Tech-Loving Kids
We love this set inspired by Pete the Cat. The "pen" is very easy for kids to use, and the right and wrong answers are indicated both by sound effects and flashing lights. Questions will need to be read by an adult if the child doesn't already know how to read. Batteries last a long time in the pen. It's great for taking on car trips!

Can't go wrong w/Hot Dots & Pete the Cat!
