Great for documents, poor for photos.
The scanner is nice and very fast. It scans documents very well but the quality is disappointing if there are photos on the page. The photos are very grainy, even with the higher dpi.

Very good value for the price
For personal or small business needs this scanner works very well. It is not the fastest but it does handle duplex scanning nicely and the software can be configured to most needs. The price is very appealing which results in excellent value. Now retired, I previously used an HP Scanjet Enterprise scanner while working. The current scanner is obviously not as rugged as...

Delivery and East to Install
Easy to install except CD installer did not come up when I inserted the disc. I hope I am doing it okay.

Good non-networkable scanner
It scan really well. Great quality. Its comes with a CD for the software and must be connected to a computer - not networkable.

Excellent replacement for very old scanner
Works better than my 20 year old HP scanner ever thought about working. Quiet, very clean copies and can (most of the time) create a searchable PDF document. When turned on after a long down time, you have to wait 2-3 minutes before the accompanying software can find the scanner. Longer than the old scanner took to warm up the lamp. Don't get in hurry. Great standalone scanner!
very easy to install for those not tech savvy and very easy to operate and follow the scanning menu choices! Very glad to have bought this for our home office and now prefer a standalone scanner compared to the "3 in one" we used to have.

Won't feed photos
great scanner for documents, but will NOT feed photos. Was bought to scan old photos, won't feed them. Placing each photo on the flatbed will take way to much time.

This scanner is awesome. The only thing I still cannot figure out how to do is scan multiple pages without using the feeder.

Excellent scanner!
The HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 scanner is an excelent product. Great features. Very easy to use. Reasonably priced. It is exactly what I was looking for in a scanner for my office/study at home.

small documents won't feed
I can't scan a stack of small documents through the feeder. Items such as Salvation Army receipts or bank deposit receipts.

Convenient, Quick, Affordable
We purchased this scanner for a small billing office. We regularly scan jobs anywhere from 1 - 40 pages as well as checks. This scanner is quick, it fits right under our desk, it works well with few hiccups and we feel that we got a great deal. Would happily recommend to another office with similar scanning needs.

Installation was very easy but not because of the install sheet provided. A good installation instruction would have made things a lot easier with no guessing.
