not sure what the other reviewers mean
Had this chair for a year now, absolutely no problems, very comfortable. I cannot imagine how it would 'fall apart' as it is built very sturdy??? big fan of this one for an affordable high back

AWFUL!
This chair began coming apart within the first month - the stitching came apart on the seat. However, when I called Staples to ask about it, they don't deal with anything and the manufacturer does not warranty the material at all. Ok fine.. then the hydraulics failed... after a lot of arguing the company replaced it .... that one has also failed and the chair will not s...

Pretty good value, seems well made

Serves its purpose, but not worth the cost!
This chair looks nice, but is not very comfortable. The seat needs more cushion for a chair that you sit in for long stretches of time. It does adjust easily and the arms have a nice cushion. I don't feel like I got a good value for the cost. It should be half the cost.

This is no "executive" chair. Without a doubt the most uncomfortable desk chair I have ever sat in. Even worse, the fabric is nasty. It's an itchy, course weave- horrible. Even worse than worse, I've sat in it for 5 days and there's a rip in the seat seam already. Also, if you're looking for a true high back, this isn't all that high. Flash Furniture High-Back Fabric Executive Chair, Fixed Arms, Black
I decided to purchase this chair for a computer chair over a leather chair because the last couple of leather chairs I have used after a while started cracking and I would tape the splits to try to cover the rips up but after a while the tape would start coming loose. Hopefully this chair will solve that problem.

the seat itself is very
the seat itself is very comfortable and the chair is very sturdy, however the upper area of the back where it forms a head rest is very uncomfortable on your back for a normal sized person.

Nasty Fabric!!!
I have no idea how sturdy this chair might be over the long haul. I opened the box and it has to be one of the ickiest fabric I have ever laid a hand on. From the pics I thought it might be microfiber but it is more like a polyester tweed. Will be returning it asap.

the chair was easy to put together and took very little time to do so. It is nice looking and sturdy. The seat part of the chair is disappointing. I thought the cushion would keep its shape and maintain its height. However, just after a day or two of sitting in it, it looks like a flat pancake.
