Garbage, horrible design
Paper tray doesn't close with legal paper. The front of the tray sticks out 2 inches and it looks like it's broken. It's not broken just a horrible design.

Exactly what we needed
The default sheet tray for our printer is too small and seemingly (and annoyingly) required restocking every time we wanted to print something. This large capacity sheet tray is perfect as it'll hold over a ream of paper. It was super easy to install, taking under two minutes. You can do it yourself, but if you have an extra person, I'd encourage you to save your back....

Great addition to your Laser 479
The 3rd tray works as it should. One thing I noticed on the Laser 479 tray vs the old laser 1329 tray is how easy and smooth it slides in and out. You can load a full team of paper at a time!

Depends on your purpose
If you want this for legal sized paper, it will have to remain open & extended 3-4 inches out in front of the unit.

Easy breezy install and operation
I picked this up because I need to print documents that have both letter and legal size pages contained in them. The install is simple albeit a bit unwieldly to do it solo. The instructions suggest two people lift the printer and place it on the tray. I did it by myself without too much hassle. depending on which printer model you have you'll need a fair amount of up...

Feeder Tray works as expected
This feeder tray works as expected. We use it as a 3rd paper tray for our HP color Laser Jet Pro M479. Because my printer wasn't listed in the product's description as being compatible, I did contact HP and verified it would work with our printer.

Easy to install and it just works
It took two of us to install it, only because you need one to lift the printer and the other to guide it to the right spot. But then the printer recognizes the new tray, you tell it which paper you want to use in it, and away you go!

Additional Paper Tray is UGLY Sticks out the front
The additional paper tray sticks out of the front of the printer and is most unattractive - Poor engineering.

Will not fit legal size paper.
I specifically bought this printer for 2 reasons. To be able to print via WiFi and to be able to put legal size paper. If you want to print Levi’s WiFi from your phone or iPad you have to go through the HP app which to me in inconvenient. And as for the extra tray I bought it to fit legal size paper but it does not fit.
