Hi Jacqueline I am very sorry that you had this problem. The message about incompatible cartridges can mean that your printer was not designed to use that particular cartridge or it could be caused by other things. If there is a fingerprint or some damage on the contacts the printer’s sensors might mistake it for a bad cartridge. To see if that is the case carefully polish the copper contacts on the cartridge (and the matching ones inside the printer) with lint-free material to see if that helps the connection. Here are things that could help: - Always check to make sure the replacement cartridge you get is properly filled - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible - Shut the printer down between uses - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off.
