Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about our BE850G2. By design, the ground sockets would all appear to be closed/blocked from the beginning. In the factory, some of the ground sockets would be opened because plugs were attached to the sockets during factory testing. Not all outlets will be used in testing, some ground sockets would remain to appear blocked/closed when they leave the factory. So when the unit arrives to our customers, UPS sockets end up with mixed appearances of open and blocked ground sockets. To address this, please insert a load (with a 3-prong plug) with ample force to open up the ground sockets.

Perfect UPS for my home computer setup
I selected this UPS for my home laptop, docking station and 2 large monitors. The UPS was tested with my setup and it was rated to last 60+ minutes. Not bad.
My home networking equipment is already protected with this same exact UPS. It was tested to last 45 minutes on my networking devices: router, wifi, fiber, Ooma and various IoT devices.

So Many Plugs!
I continue to appreciate APC's BackUPs equipment to protect my electronics. However, some one missed the proverbial boat some where along the way. Each of my devices designed with with a plug-end power transformer is oriented 90 degrees out of alignment with the UPC's plugs. Bought recently to replace a smaller unit that died rather suddenly without warning. (Note: When they fail their test they whine continuously and it can't be stopped.)
