Best consumer product of its kind
I've owned APC ups/Schneider products for over 20 years. These units NEVER failed me, and lasted many years. The 12V internal batteries are easily replaceable and easily available to buy (NOT like other cheaper units where the battery is "Sealed In" and cannot be accessed by the owner). Highly recommended products, A+++ Thank you.

The battery is not user replaceable
I bought this device because it has 6 backed up outlets instead of 4, and the layout of the outlets allocates room for a large power supply brick. I did not know when I bought it that the battery is sealed inside the box and is NOT user replaceable. There is no indication on the box that the battery is not replaceable. The price was good. 6 outlets are backup and 3 are surge only, plus a usb outlet. The battery was easy to hook up, although it takes some strength to push in the battery hookup device, but it is better than previous versions where you had to flip the battery and hook up 2 connectors and then flip the battery back into place. Perfect!
Our old UPS died & yelled at us for about 15 minutes before someone (me) figured out what it was. The equipment that was plugged into that UPS is imperative to our operation so I needed a new one fast! Staples to the rescue - exactly what we needed was delivered less than 24 hours later! Perfect!

I needed a battery back because of repeated outages, 3 in one month!
Because of were we live we had to many electrical outages which complicates restarting my computer and rebooting my design programs! This is just the right protection for my home office needs.

Claims to support PowerChute monitoring bu cannot
While the UPS functions of this unit do perform to the advertised standards and replacement batteries are available, there is no serial or USB port for monitor. This is counter to the claim that their PowerChute serial v1.2 will work with this model. As yet, after about a year, I have not figured out how to get this unit monitored. I don't think it is possible.

So far, so good: this is a replacement for a previous APS Back-UPS, and it's working fine since I plugged it in. This model has the plug sockets on top of the unit, rather than at the back--I like this because it makes access easier, especially when the unit sits on the floor beneath a desk, as mine does.
