Radios work great

Great for our needs
Bought for maintaining contact during an outdoor event and worked as needed. Battery life has been great, and having weather radio capability has been a plus. Will be buying more for security team.

Great for car to car communications
Purchased these to keep in touch with other drivers on a group outing. they run on rechargeable batteries (included) or AA batteries. I used them right out of the box with AA batteries which lasted the whole journey and still had plenty in reserve. The sets come with a drop-in charger that uses USB. the radios also have USB ports for charging on the go.

Not 38 Miles, not even a full 2 miles
Would appreciate a refund/ range is terrible, fully charged/ no buildings, no trees, did not hold even two mile range. No good. Disappointed

Backcountry skiing
Great radios that work well for the purpose of backcountry skiing. I purchased these along with the external mic . They are easy to use, functional well, and so far hold up to the weather.

Very clear sound but range is far worse than I expected
Bought these to replace an older pair that had a broken button. These are very similar but are supposed to have better range than the old ones. But after trying these in a variety of situations, the range is far worse than I expected. At 3/4 of a mile over a small hill, no reception. On a beach with direct line of site, they are better. Not what I thought
I am not getting a 38 mile distance. I am in a suburban area and am lucky if I am getting a mile distance. Second, there is interference from other cb's or walkie talkies and I had to change channels, which is fine but still it is the principle.
If there is a way to tell me how to get 38 mile distance I would be happy, but really the advertising on this technically is...

Weather Radio too!
I have several walkie talkies, but this one is by far the best. It has all the normal features, but with the weather radio, this one is the best. The time feature is also helpful.

Did the Job
Got these for a camping trip so I could keep in touch with my son. Worked well within 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile in the woods. After that, they didn't work very well, if at all. I was prepared for that result so all in all I would recommend this product.

Not as good a range as advertised.
I understand that the 38 mile range that is advertised applies to wide open spaces. However, in an urban eviornment, while both individuals are outside, these devices struggle to reach 3/4 of a mile.
