No speaker in the handset...??!?!?!
The only speaker on the unit is on the underside of the main unit. And since you would normally mount this under the dash or on the side of the center console it is very hard to hear. The handset looks like it should have a speaker, and feels like it does, but there are only metal weights, and foam covering the grill that would normally hold a speaker.

MXT115 MicroMobile: Works ok. Small that it fits in small cars or smaller places/spots within the car. The mic itself has a soft light in under the front lower buttons to more easily spot and orient the mic when you are in dark conditions. Great for farm use!
I have purchased 10 mxt 115 radios and have mounted most of them in trucks tractors and combines. They are an excellent value, easy to install and work well. We are fetting at miimum 5 miles and up to 12 miles of range with them. The noise cancelling mics work great in noisier cabs. They also work great with our other Midland mobile and handheld radios. Fun Communication Device
Talks clearly within 2 miles in tree using the factory 2.1db antenna.2 to 3 times further in line of site. The MXT115 was showing just under 3 amps when transmitting. Great radio for communicating with friend while doing outdoor activities. Simple instructions that are easy to follow.

Good radio for the price. Compact, somewhat easy to navigate its features. Wasn’t expecting to hear comms from local drive thru’s but that’s part of its frequencies.

Sweet Radio!
Sweet Radio! Got it installed in my 06 forester. So far I can hear construction workers, but hoping it helps me stay in touch with my overlanding peeps on the trail. Excellent design here. Ease of use and audio quality are really great!

Works great I’m pleased with it, works as should
I’m pleased, compact fit easy to outfit into my rig, had a small snag but it was nothing major will end up buying another stubby antenna for a dual look.

great low cost radio
I like the small size unit and they are easy to install. The only con is the cheap white plug in the power cord the female pins needed to be pinched for a reliable connection

brocken antenna
I just got my radio and I am already having problems. When the antenna is attached the radio causes static on all channels and privacy codes. this does not happen when the antenna is detached.

Great radio, good power and very easy to use.
