Usually my go to
Usually I would recommend APC as it's always performed better than other brands I've tried, but this unit has had some issues. The smell has not dissipated as quickly as other units, and it has turned itself off during a power outage requiring me to remove the load and battery before it would turn back on.

Great product great value price.
Although we have a whole house generator there are still surges and some time of no power before backup power kicks in. APC Back-UPS Pro BN 1500
The APC unit works well. Updating the software is a headache. PowerChute Personal Edition is directly replaced by PowerChute Serial Shutdown. Navigating the Schneider Electric software website is a nightmare.

Right Replacement Right Time
First off kudos to my local Staples (Ocean NJ) for actually HAVING the unit I needed in-stock and available for 1-hour pick-up. Yes this is often a "luck-of-the-draw" thing these days but they came through for me in the proverbial clutch. Trustwory Surge & Battery Backup!
I have used this model (and similar APC units) for decades. i live at the end of a line and have frequent electrical fluctuations and flickers. And yes the occasional power outage. APC Back-UPS are the best!
APC Back-UPS are the best! I've been using them for over 20 years. One for my desktop printer and peripherals and one for my home entertainment center. Wouldn't trust my electronics to any other back-up!
