Usually I would recommend APC as it's always performed better than other brands I've tried, but this unit has had some issues. The smell has not dissipated as quickly as other units, and it has turned itself off during a power outage requiring me to remove the load and battery before it would turn back on.

APC Back-UPS Pro BN 1500
The APC unit works well. Updating the software is a headache. PowerChute Personal Edition is directly replaced by PowerChute Serial Shutdown. Navigating the Schneider Electric software website is a nightmare.
