Useless product - laser too dim
The laser is way too dim and it is not visible AT ALL in my lecture classroom. That defeats the whole purpose. I am returning it.

WORTH THE PURCHASE
I finally caved in and bought the R500s after five years of using my R800 (still working btw). I love the minimalist style of the R500s and as with any Logitech product, it's plug and play functionality. Very easy to use and helps with displaying confidence when presenting in front of an audience.

Good product
I enjoy using the remote. It makes my life easier in my classroom. It allows me to move around the classroom while also giving the students the instruction needed.

It just works!
I generally trust products from Logitech and the R500 does not disappoint! First of all I love the quick plug and play you get with the USB receiver. Plug it in to a compatible USB port and you are presenting immediately! You can also connect via Bluetooth although I have not tried this yet. This works as advertised, which is what's most important. So if all you care about is getting a presentation remote that works, buy this one. But remotes are not new technology, and there's a lot of competition on the market, so I expected more from a leading brand at a mid-range price. Not great
It goes through batteries very quickly. And once new batteries are used you have about 5 minutes of normal use before you need to be within 2 feet of the computer for the clicker to work.

Bluetooth is awful
I bought it for its bluetooth functionality so that I can use it with my Macbook without the need to connect any dongles etc. It was poor. It almost never worked and always lagged even when I was right in front of the computer. Not bright enough
The remote control works very well for advancing and reversing presentations. However the laser light is not bright enough when trying to point out something on the screen particularly when there is a light colored background.

Bad Experience
Upgraded to R500s specifically for Mac but it only worked intermittently. Unusable for professional presentation. Nothing but frustration trying to get support. Support is just someone reading from a screen who has no real knowledge of the product. Still trying to get some sort of resolution.

Excellent Laser Reliability depends on Background Colors
It worked well. No issues. The pointer function worked but was not visible on my matte display with dark colors. Overall good product. Pop out the batteries if you are traveling in the airport to get through TSA.
