Nice upgrade from my old Lide 200
My Lide 200 was end of life and end of support. The Lide 400 is a nice upgrade. Utility works great with my MBP running Monterey. And the USB-C connection instead of some goofy mini-USB that was used before is much more convenient. If you need only single sheet scanning don't know how you can go wrong with this.

Hate I bought it. No longer a fan of Canon products.
Poor product. Ridiculous setup procedures. My fault I did not know it does not support Bluetooth which is weird for this day and age. Also, to sensitive to movement since the instruction warn you about handling the device.

Small footprint Big results!
I've only used this Canon scanner once for a PDF and I'm sure it will do amazing things with photos. My only 'con' at this point is that unlike my previous Canon scanner this one does not come with an 'icon' for my desktop. So now I have to click on the Windows 'start' icon to find the 'IJ Scan Utility'?? I scan docs frequently for business and having to apply th...

good fit so far
Because I work on a mac setup took a bit of tech support to get the drivers. If I had followed the original and sparse directions things would have been worse. I do NOT use wifi-reviews said not reliable. I like this machine but do not like the lack of an on button-have to unplug it from my imac to avoid its acting like it wants to turn on. Quality is good but have...

bummed
The scanner arrived with a defective cord to the computer. Neither Canon nor the local Staples could replace it so i had to return to the local store (i had bought it on line) and they would order a whole new one and have it delivered to the house. Unfortunately we needed it two weeks earlier.

Great little scanner
So far, so good! I have just had the scanner for a few weeks, but it was easy to set up, and is working great. We have always had CanoScan scanners and I've used them for scanning all the artwork in multiple books I've written/illustrated.

Pathetic
I bought and it never worked at all. The scanner never had power and I couldn't find a replacement cord. I will try to return to Cannon since missed Amazons return window.

I have Windows 10 and it works perfectly with it. Installed in less than 4 minutes with no problems and works perfectly. It is simple to use and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs an inexpensive scanner.

flatbed scanning is better and has more options'
A flatbed scanner can scan more than things on paper.

CanoScan Lide400
It's ok. More cheaply built than my CanoScan 8800F. And, not apparently as easy to use.
There is not a single, thorough instruction booklet on the Canon website in PDF form so had to download info, page-by-page, and assemble. A truly thankless job!

Easy Setup easy use
I have only used this scanner a few times since receiving it but it was very simple to connect to my computer and I’m satisfied with the scans I get. I wish it could interface with Photoshop as my old Canon scanner did because the Photoshop Import function has more controls but my old computer running Photoshop with the TWAIN Acquire plug-in isn’t capable of interfac...

Works great wit VueScan
I got it, followed the instructions to hook it up to my iMac with one exception I did not load the Canon software as I use VueScan. It works great with VueScan. If you have trouble with the Canon software try out VueScan.

Wonderful but tricky to install
The scanner itself is great. It replaced my trusty Lide 110 when Windows 11 did not support it. However I spent days trying to install the software which would get so far and stall. I happened upon another’s post to remove everything I had downloaded pause Windows Defense and try again. Five minutes later I was scanning.

Driver/Software won’t install
Driver will not install to my windows 11 laptop. I spent hours working at it with no success . Canon Website shows that others have had the same problem but Canon offers no solution. so I’m sending back. Darn, I really wanted this to work.

IJ Utility Scan inferior to CanoScan Toolbox 5.0
We replaced a 600F with this 400. The scanner is more awkward to use, but acceptable. The IJ Scan Utility though is far inferior to the earlier CanoScan Toolbox 5.0. In the Toolbox all the settings I change regularly, mode, scan type and output file name are on one pop-up, not on a layer below. Also, I should have total control over the output file name. I should not ha...

Wonderful Product!
I purchased this scanner for my home office to scan receipts to make my accounting tasks much easier and it does the job. I like that the easy buttons are customizable so that I don't have to wonder where the scan was saved to and always change the dpi. The price on this machine is great which made my decision to get this even better as some of the other scanners I look...
