Great "Chat with an Expert" LiveChat support
Was having some odd curing problems, but was able to get DAP LiveChat support on a Saturday, and better yet, I believe they identified the problem! (I'd recommend using this particular silicone outdoors or in a well ventilated room, as it has quite an odor while curing.) Unrelated to this, I have a suggestion for DAP: Put shelf life and/or expiration date info on your t...

Product Good - Packaging Horrible
I have had two of the 2.8 oz tubes of this product. They were purchased at separate times from separate stores. Both tubes have had flat seal at the end of the tube come open. Silicone has spilled everywhere on both occasions. It made a huge mess and slowed down my project. Customers have an expectation that the packaging of this product will work. This was a miserable ...

Would buy
I used this product on the back of a large bathroom mirror to help to hold and cushion the mirror against the wall. It seemed to have worked but now I am being told that was a bad idea as the silicone will damage the coating on the back of the glass. Is this true?

Great product! The first review of 1star was a user error.
Ignore the previous review about back packaging. It was a user error, because the user didn't know that almost every caulk gun has a needle on it to puncture the inner seal before use. If you don't puncture the seal, you are going to blow out the back of your tube of caulking or sealant. Read the instructions people.

Response from Staples :
Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the product packaging did not perform as expected. All of the DAP Silicone Squeeze tubes (2.8 fl. oz. and smaller) are packaged in a metal squeeze tube to ensure the longest possible shelf life for this formula. This metal squeeze tube has an "inner foil seal" on the threaded end of the tube (under the plastic cap) that must be completely punctured. If this foil seal is not completely punctured or the nozzle opening is cut too finely, it will create a too narrow of a restriction for the product to flow without the use of excessive force. If the burst strength of the crimp is exceeded, product may leak from the crimp. This condition can also occur if the product has thickened due to exceeding its shelf life or if dried material is physically blocking the nozzle. At your convenience, please contact DAP's Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you and so that we can arrange to provide you with a replacement product.
