Scam alert
As usual: a four year protection plan equates to 3 years. Situation with printer itself is suspect. It appears that the "new" printer came with 4 months gone from the manufacturer's warranty. Aside: The printer itself shimmies but works. (so far)

If I'm going to sink a chunk of money into new tech (an HP printer), I'm going to get a protection plan for it. You're right, I may never need it...and I may need it 2 years from now. I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and have to pay out-of-pocket for repairs, or a new printer.

The sales person who sold this plan to me said repeatedly I would not get any tech support from HP for my new printer, and that I could only get tech support by buying this extra-cost plan. In fact, HP provides fine tech support.

Not intuitive but very nice
I think this printer is going to be great once I learn more about it. I bought the tech plan because I was assured I would have tech support whenever I need it but at the moment, I have no idea where to call.
