Only for hard surface/floor/mat
I bought 1 set to try out for my chair and it works well since I have a hard mat. It doesn't work for carpet at all. My kids don't want any mat so these won't work. Glad that I only bought 1 set.

Should be included with chair in first place
Bought these at the suggestion of Union & Scale support because the casters that came with my Kroy chair didn't work well on a floor mat. These casters work equally well on carpet, hardwood floors and chair mats, and IMO should have been included in the box with the chair in the first place.
Sigh. At least I got the Kroy chair on sale.

simple smooth wheels
i have veneer flooring and got the Hyken mesh office chair for WFH. the wheels came with the chair was for carpet. Swapping it out was super straight forward, just pop out the old ones and snap the new ones in. it's super smooth compared to the original wheels. Great value, it's the cheaper option on staples but this does not feel cheaply built at all!
