Hello I read that you ran out of ink early. This is a rare occurrence and I will run through the possibilities to provide clarity. My first thought is that you printed something with a lot of color ink. Maybe a photo. Designs tables diagrams and other items require a lot of ink. Another cause might be the temperature. Hello Marylee We want you to be happy with your cartridges. Many customers try to use third-party cartridges. While these cartridges may be cheaper HP printers do not recognize them. Our printers are built to read the scanning code on each HP cartridge. Other cartridges lack the code. There are several resources on extending the life of the cartridge. Hi Georgia I would like to clarify why the cyan and magenta did not work. If the cartridges are not new they are likely to empty. Replacing them will fix this problem. Hello Shirley There seems to be a lack of information of the poor quality. Was the ink streaking? Was it light or faded? Was it spotty? I can offer ideas on fixing all of these circumstances. If it was streaking clean the print rollers. Light or faded ink means the cartridge is running out or the print quality setting is too low. Increase it slowly.
