Excellent Product would purchase it again!
Love it. Fast, accurate, only jams on multiple sheet feeder if you forget to remove a staple. Have run through about 600 sheets in a 2 week time with no concerns.

Latest firmware is 0.6, not ready for release yet.
I recently bought this primarily to use with its ability to scan to email. After that failed to work, a firmware upgrade later got me a little closer, but still no joy, only vague error messages about losing connection to the mail server. Digging around more, it turns out that apart from not having useful diagnostics, the scanner was silently truncating the email pass...

Lacks "one touch" copy direct to printer (photocopy) function.
Does not have a "one touch" copy function, so cannot use as a photocopier unless you scan first and then print the file separately. Means we have to retain our flatbed Cannon scanner which has a copy straight to printer function. Also software is not very intuitive.

Great hardware - software interface and set-up is only "OK"
I bought the HP ScanJet Pro N4000snw1 to replace my 14 year old HP ScanJect N6010. The N4000 is much faster and performs basic scans to PDF admirably. I found the user interface to the N4000's Scan Assistant to be very slow to open and the "check for updates" fails every time. Great little machine!
I got this because I prefer dedicated machines as they are more reliable and because we have lots of documents to scan. The scan was perfect. At the highest setting we were able to put a few contracts back into Word without retyping. You can save directly to a USB so you don't have to deal with securing the thing on the network.

Nice scanner - but missing key features
I had high expectations for this unit, and it's really speedy at scanning a single page .... but can't help but being disappointed in a few areas relating to the workflow and software. Firstly the bundled software doesn't seem to have a blank page removal feature, and doesn't do very well for correcting orientation of pages. Secondly, the software can't keep up with...
