It is a shelf. You can put stuff on it.
It is what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s a lightweight shelf, looks nice, and is clearly not intended to hold anything of substantial weight. The instructions say to not put more than 15lbs. on it and that seems reasonable given how strong the shelf appears to be. Installation is fairly straightforward. You’ll need a level and power drill for installation.

Get your own screws
Instructions list mounting screws and hardware. There were no screws or hardware with the shelves. I ordered 2 and neither came with the screws listed in the instructions.
