It appeared you could power this up and connect to your WIFI with a CAT 5 line. You Can't.

It's a keeper!

Worked perfectly!
I had a Wi-Fi dead spot in our basement where we have a TV and gaming system which need to be able to stream. I opted to try this TP-LINK unit and it quickly and painlessly resolved the problem. Super easy to install.

Couldn't use it -- instructions deficient
I never was able to try the unit because I could never get it to connect to my home router. The instructions said to load some app which I couldn't do. Or push the WPS button on my router which my router did not have. Or push the WPS button on the extender which it did not have. At that point I gave up and returned the unit

Not enough information on the box.
The box read as if this extender would broadcast a long way but it would only go 20 feet. I needed one to go 60 feet. I would need to buy 3 of these. If it had said on the out side of the box the distance it could broadcast I never would have bought it. Truth up front would have saved me a lot of time.

Installation instructions Need Improvement
Web Browser setup doesn't work forcing to go to the app. I did find the web address via my router log in but that was viewing a YouTube help video. Even entering the web browser is a little confusing and/or incomplete. For example I can't change the channel on my extended 2.4 or 5.0 bands. WiFi in the backyard!
Main router always gave us 1 to 2 bars when out on our back patio. Plugging in the wifi extender in a rear of house electrical outlet now gives me 3 bars and no hiccups. Easy to install too.

Easy to install works well but there is a flaw
Easy to install and works well if you have a 5 GHz router. However you must be aware of a little flaw that may be a problem for some users. Even though your router is dual band some of them (may be all?) cut the 5 GHz at night to go on 2.4 GHz mode. This reduces the range of WIFI signal and the warning light turns red on the extender to let you know that it does not rec...

TP-Link Dual Band WiFi
While the Dual Band WiFi may be very good I could not get it to connect with the Spectrum Router. That doesn't say much for Spectrum.
