Not Reliable
I have this scanner for a few months. It works sporadically. Most of the time it can't connect to my computer. This is even with using the USB cable. I've done the updates but doesn't help at all. I am very frustrated. A machine that works one out of every 20 tries is not worth using.

The software interface is like something from the early 90s
Expect to spend about 10 min playing with the settings each time you use it in order scan even short documents of 10 pages. It’s bad enough that I’m considering just recycling it after only 4 months. I had thought it was just me, needing to put in the time to get used to it, but that hasn’t helped. I would strongly urge you to avoid this thing.

Avoid doesn't work w windows 11
After purchase find out Epson scanner driver and Epson scanner app not supported by windows 11 . So a lot of functions aren’t available.
Scan to iPhone so slow . Only response is use windows scan which is cumbersome . Epson 500 was great but this lack of interface is just terrible . The 580 does great scans occasionally but there is no ease of use

Awesome machine!!!
I haven't been this excited about an office product since my first laser printer! I LOVE this scanner! It's so fast, it does double sided sheets, I don't get arm cramps from lifting lids and putting papers on the glass. It is AWESOME.

1 year later and not working
Just out of the warranty and it will not connect to the wifi, there is no wifi issue as other devices are connected in the office. WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE A HARD WIRE OPTION!!!

Not as good as hoped
I purchased this standalone scanner to improve upon my Canon printer scanner. It has a higher quality but only slightly; speed and quantity are much larger. Obviously (though I didn't think of it) you cannot scan anything with a bind since you cannot lay flat (like a book or booklet). Sometimes it thinks thin paper is 2 pages and treats it as a jam. avoid - there has to be better options out there
The thing jams constantly and a piece already broke off of the cover so it no longer closes making is useless so in the trash it goes. It lasted just over 4 months and that's it
